3/4 c. shortening
3 t. baking powder
2 c. sugar
1/3 t. salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 t. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
dash nutmeg
4 c. sifted plain flour
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add other ingredients.
Stir together well and knead a few times.
Roll out and use various shapes of cookie cutters.
Decorate as desired.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 12-15 mins.
Lib was always so kind as to make up a big batch of cookie dough every Christmas season and bring it out to our house. It enabled me to spend more time helping our 4 youngest children cut out and decorate the Christmas cookies to share with friends.
